PUBLICITY

RockWay understands that traditional approaches to
publicity — like national tours, national radio and television interviews, or print ads in
publications like The New York Times Book Review, which can cost hundreds
of thousand of dollars for a one-time ad — do not necessarily sell books.
For that reason, RockWay Press concentrates its
energies on local publicity — in the author's hometown, in his family's towns,
in fellow RockWay Press authors' towns, in the publisher's area — bookstore readings
in those regions, and online publicity.
Our talented and extremely experienced free-lance publicist,
Rose Carrano,
arranges the readings, interviews with the radio and television stations, and sends out press releases to all
appropriate national and regional periodicals. She also distributes review
copies of the novels to the national periodicals she deems most important and
most likely to show an interest in the author's work, including The New York
Times Book Review, The New Yorker, USA Today, among others.
Additionally, Ms. Carrano enters the
finished books into national and international contests, which not only expand
the author's exposure, but also brings prestige and recognition to both the
author and to RockWay (which, in turn, brings more exposure to RockWay's other
authors).
RockWay Press is proud and honored to have
the talented and prestigious Rose Carrano, of Rose Carrano Public
Relations, as our publicist. She helps our authors achieve the recognition their
work deserves.
