Most people who have never been published, and many famous authors, do not have any clear understanding of what exactly happens when a book gets published. 

 There is much more to publishing a book than an editor at a house simply saying, "I want this book," and getting it put on the shelves of bookstores.

Publishing is a highly political, time-consuming process, involving the interactions and decision-making of many people from all parts of the industry: editors, design editors, production editors, cover artists, publicists, manufacturers, distributors, salesmen, bookstore staff, agents ...

Not every author is interested in the process a manuscript must go through in order to become a book available in bookstores or online. 

RockWay wants its authors to be informed and savvy business people, as well as good artists, however, so that they can make informed and carefully considered choices at every step of the process.
